Today is Valentine's Day and whether it was created by a card company or not, it's nice to take a moment and show someone a little love.
It's nice to know that someone feels happy when they see you.
It's nice to have someone to tell your troubles to when you need it.
It's nice to have someone who is always excited to go places with you even if they don't know where they are going.
As I was writing the sentences above, it occurred to me that they could be describing a person or a dog. (Oh boy, don't tell my husband.)

Love is shown in more than just actions. Where I live, we have a lot of deer who like to run across the road, usually in front of our cars. So we often hear as we are leaving the house, "watch out for deer!" That's love.
Or how about the phrase "call/text me when you get there!" That's love too.
Sometimes love is a quick hug or touch on the arm as we pass our person in the house.
Love is also taking time for yourself. Whether you are in a relationship or not, giving yourself a gift of alone time or doing an activity that makes you happy, that's love too.
If you want to love others, love yourself first. This is especially important if your relationship is getting a little comfortable and not too exciting.
As midlife women we need to realize that we are important and we matter which doesn't always come easy. We give to others and forget about us. We need to love ourselves just as we are.
My hope is that what I am doing through my website, podcast and other upcoming offerings, will help you along that road to knowing that you are valued, you are a light and you are loved. That is my way of loving you.
Please take care of your beautiful self!
~Kim~
